Frequently Asked Questions
> FAQ: General
How is Tailgate different from Feral Frequency?Unlike Feral Frequency which is a trans-first event, Tailgate is designed for everyone in the furry community, regardless of gender identity. Tailgate is still specifically a queer-run and queer-oriented space. How is Tailgate different from other furry raves? Our contemporaries in the Toronto scene tend to be nightclub-like parties where creating a kink-friendly social environment is the goal. Tailgate takes a different approach, developing our event to be more like a concert than a nightclub. Placing high priority on visual presentation and music, we take great care in curating our talent so every DJ set feels like a headliner.
> FAQ: Conduct
Are there any age restrictions for this event?Tailgate is a 19+ event, as there is a bar inside the venue. ID will be checked at the door.Am I allowed to fursuit at Tailgate?Partial and full fursuits are welcome at the venue, though partial suits are preferable due to limited space. Large bags (for transporting your suit) are not permitted. Please be aware of your surroundings if you choose to wear a partial or full suit. Can I come to Tailgate without a fursuit?Yes! Tailgate is not a fursuit-specific event, everyone is welcome. Is tailgate kink friendly?Tailgate is a kink-friendly event, so kink gear such as collars/leashes, pup hoods, latex, and body harnesses are welcome. Lower-half nudity is forbidden, and footwear is required. Attendees must be fully clothed when entering and exiting the venue.
> FAQ: Event Details
Will there be a coat check?A coat check will be available at the venue. What's the photo policy?Unlike Feral Frequency, any photographers are welcome! We ask that photographers be respectful of the boundaries of attendees, and ask for consent before taking photos. Remember, wearing a fursuit doesn't equal consent! Also be aware that our events will likely have lasers. While these lasers will not be pointing at the crowd (for safety reasons), Tailgate is not liable for any damage to photography equipment that occurs at our events. How can I support Tailgate more?If you'd like to support our team, the best thing you can do is invite your friends and buy a drink from the bar. Tip your bartenders and drink responsibly!

We use the term as it is culturally understood in the furry community, meaning a ticketed DJ dance party, so that our event is in line with the expectations of attendees. NorthPaws Events is committed to allocating some of the ticket sales to support local true raves, in order to keep the culture alive.
